Editorial Policy
Small business funding sits in Google's YMYL category (Your Money, Your Life) because the answers materially affect a business owner's livelihood. We hold ourselves to the standard that comes with that.
Every guide carries a real byline (currently Elliot Bauche, founder of ICG Funding) and is reviewed by the underwriting team before publication. We do not publish anonymous content or AI-generated content without a human author taking responsibility for the words.
When a guide states a regulatory rule, a pricing structure, a program limit, or a statistic, we link directly to the primary source: SBA.gov, the CFPB, the FTC, the IRS, the Federal Reserve, FDIC, or the relevant state regulator. Not a secondary commentary.
We write the way an experienced underwriter would explain the same concept to a small business owner over the phone. If a term is technical, we define it inline and link it to /glossary.
ICG Funding is not an affiliate publisher. Our guides describe ICG products where they are genuinely the right fit, and they describe SBA, bank, equipment, and other alternatives accurately even when ICG would not be a fit. We do not earn commissions on outbound links.
Review process
No piece of content reaches /resources without passing through every step. The same applies to glossary updates and calculator methodology changes.
Draft
A guide is drafted by Elliot Bauche or a named ICG team member. The brief specifies the target reader, the primary search query the post answers, and the primary sources that must be cited.
Underwriting review
A senior member of the underwriting team reviews the draft for accuracy on how products are actually priced, sized, and serviced. Anything that does not match how ICG and our capital partners actually behave is corrected before publication.
Source verification
Every regulatory, statistical, or pricing claim is checked against the primary source linked in the Sources section. Broken links and superseded regulations are flagged and rewritten.
Publish + monitor
On publish, the post is added to the sitemap and submitted to IndexNow. We monitor for inbound corrections at the email address below.
Refresh
Each guide is revisited at minimum once every 12 months and after any material regulatory change. The visible "Updated" date reflects the most recent substantive review, not minor copy edits.
Every guide's Sources section links to one of the source classes below. We avoid secondary commentary, paid placements, and competitor blogs as primary citations.

If you find a factual error, a broken link to a primary source, or a regulatory rule that has been superseded since we wrote about it, send the URL of the page and the specific issue to the editorial inbox below. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and ship a correction within five.
When we update a previously published claim, the change is reflected in the visible "Updated" date at the top of the page. Material corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected post.
